Nigel’s passion for sailing has involved him in Volvo Ocean Races, the Jules Verne Trophy, Olympic trials and many classic yachting events around the world. His skills and talents have brought him together with some of the sport's top skippers; Mike Golding, Ellen MacArthur, Paul Cayard and Dee Caffari, to name but a few.

In 2000 he founded Nigel King Yachting, which offers a full yachting and coaching consultancy service. His excellent interpersonal, project management and organisational skills have been demonstrated through involvement in many high profile campaigns and projects. Nigel is renowned for being supportive, good humoured and adventurous. Furthermore, Nigel King Yachting provides the structure for his recent move into the world of single-handed sailing. Supported by a committed team, Nigel is now following further ambitions in this arena, towards achieving his ultimate goal of the Vendée Globe round the world race.
